Orchestrated Storytelling
Outlaw Man

Ever since I was a small one I worked for Ma 'n Pa
Before I could walk I was runnin' from the law
Learnin' how to shoot with Papa's loaded gun
Propped up in the crib when I was only one.

Workin' on the rum run at the age 'a three
Had to give up my milk, started drinkin' whiskey
Had my first heist when I was only four
Spent all that money, left me wantin' more.

Junior ran the still, brothers makin' crank
While lil' sis and I robbed the local bank
Growin' up too fast, just a life in crime
I'd done 30 years by the age a' nine.

We're ten in the family, was hard gettin' by
That was why Ma 'n Pa gave armed robbery a try
Was a family affair, we all tagged along
Everyone was packin' in case things went wrong.

Was last time out lil' brother was the one
Cops shot him bad for pullin' out his gun
My sister was next up for murder first degree
It'll be a thousand years before she is free.

Makin' a delivery, loaded to the gills
Boxes 'n bottles a' whisky an' a thousand lil' pills
That was the last run ever done by me
Crossin' over state lines was a felony.

Feds were waitin' there at the drop off spot
My brother went down as they fired the first shot
I turned to run and almost got away
Got shot in the back now I'm dyin' where I lay.

Runnin' drugs for Ma, runnin' guns for Pa
Runnin' for the family, runnin' from the law
Runnin' in a life a crime, the best you ever saw
Just 'bout makes me one bad dead outlaw.
