Only 12 when I had ta leave school I started out bad I broke every rule
Knocked up a girl in the neighborhood everybody sayin' we jus' aint no good
We left the town an' didn't look back hopped a train rollin' down the track
Out to the coast gonna start a new life Christ I'm only 12 now an I got a wife.

That kinda life was causin' some stress wasn't goin' good I must confess
She wanted more than I could give she says it aint no way ta live
Baby was screamin' tried to calm her down was sinkin' fast an startin' ta drown.

I was only twelve she's thirteen baby was one an' growin up mean
Wakin' every mornin' to the same ol' grind tryin' for whatever respect I could find
Out on the pavement just flappin' my shoes on back home with the same ol' news
Endin' in that same ol' fight just one a these days I wonna get it right.

Summer turned ta winter an winter ta fall baby still screamin' an startin' ta crawl
We just had a passionate night now her pants are startin' ta get tight
Appears another one is on its way if I believed in God I'd start ta pray.

Things were startin' ta boil to a head wife refused ta get outta bed
Stayed right there until she gave birth tried ta help for what it's worth
Once was three an now we four tiny little brain can't take it no mo'
All a this cause a lil' mistake can't eat a piece without cuttin' the cake.

Then somethin' fell from the sky sn' to this day I don't ask why
Seems in the middle a some robbery them crooks drivin' by in front a me
Tossed a bag from their window I grabbed it quick an was on the go.

Ran back to the car see what it was I started shakin' an' just because
Bag was full a' dough to the brim the chances gettin' away were very slim
It didn't matter so I tried any way I aimed that car an' shot the highway
Always in the rearview lookin back car was gainin' was a black Cadillac.

I tried to pass every car I could he was gainin' wasn't doin' no good
Jus' as he was startin' ta pass he blew it cause he punched the gas
Cause that Caddy ta go into a slide that day luck was on my side.

As he's passin' by all I could see was a double barrel shotgun pointin' at me
As he's ready ta pop a round car left the pavement an' hit the ground
Rolled on over an' landed on it's top blew into flames so we didn't stop
We kept travelin' on thru the night gonna turn this wrong inta right.
